Pat Martino Trio
Mastering the guitar takes a lifetime for anyone, but after suffering a severe brain aneurysm in 1980, jazz guitar legend Pat Martino lost all memory of his guitar and career. Over months of careful study of his work, Martino was able to reverse his memory loss and relearn the techniques that made him one of the most exciting and virtuosic guitarists in the history of jazz. Inspired by musicians like Miles Davis and John Coltrane, Martino pushes the boundaries of jazz guitar into a melodic world that is entirely his own. Marking the 50th anniversary of his landmark album, El Hombre, in 2017, Martino’s forward-thinking and revolutionary approach to jazz guitar has changed the landscape of the genre.
