New Orchestra of Washington
SEASONS OF LOVE
They call themselves a “compact chamber orchestra,” but the vital sound of New Orchestra of Washington (NOW) is anything but. Every member’s artistic contribution is essential and every member is elevated to their highest potential as an ensemble player. For this small ensemble with a large presence, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
NOW brings a diverse array of classical works and music of broad appeal to its audiences with bold repertoire that is “refreshingly unfamiliar and accessible” (Washington Post). They are under the guidance of Artistic Director and co-founder Alejandro Hernandez-Valdez, who conducts “with the incisive clarity of someone born to the idiom” (Washington Post).
Joining NOW is violinist Nicholas Tavani. A passionate advocate of music, Tavani has performed to critical acclaim around the world, being hailed by The Washington Post for his “brilliant musicianship.”
