James Sibley & Dan Whitehurst
AMP & COMEDY ZONE PRESENT
Although James Sibley speaks with a distinct Southern drawl, don’t expect any of the usual Southern stereotypes or themes. With sidesplitting slice of life stories, Sibley’s unique perspective shines a light on the humor of all things. This father of four would like to give a shout-out to his 7th grade English teacher, Mrs. Marcum: “Yes, I can make a living at making people laugh—a lot more than an English teacher, in fact!” Sibley has made appearances in My Name is Earl, Gilmore Girls, and Mr. Woodcock with Billy Bob Thornton, but with more than 20 years of standup experience, the veteran comedian shines best on the stage.
Dan Whitehurst finds humor in some of the most unusual and challenging situations. Bitten by the performing bug in 1998, the first six years of his comedy career were accomplished while moonlighting as a detective for the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. In May 2005, a 19-year police career ended, leaving nothing but the memories—and funny stories. Whitehurst has toured with Ralphie May, Tim Wilson, Jay Mohr, Emo Phillips, and many others.
